Making Floats

heres a vid for making your own floats. i started making them using the same technique.materials can be found at your local hobby shop. the carbon shaft seems to help the float cock easier.

Cool vid I used to do the same but unless you make like 100 at a time it's very time consuming. The painting process takes alot of time. I wonder how he centered the block of balsa and how the block stays on the shaft without slipping.

i agree paint and varathane takes way more time than turning them. myself, i turn them already epoxyed on the carbon shaft. my dremel chucks accept the 2mm solid carbon and 4mm hollow carbon(for slips). i wanna know how he does it too. as for centering by the time the block is turned round it is centered
