Looks like im booking some space for next weekend at sherkston shores ... anyone fish the naigara river lately? ... whirlpool? etc ... let me know about the condition of the water if possible .... success stories....anything helps ... thanks in advance

No Idea Id imagine the ice is cleared for sure now. Hopefully Bow Man will chyme in for you. My Niagara Forum account is messed up so I can't check. It would be nice if somebody took the info off there and put it on here.

The upper is still a little messy, ice is still coming threw. Fishing from shore is difficult because the fish are still out deep. Your best bet is the marina or the Chinese food restaurant ( cant remember the names ). The weather this week does not like promising.

Google map the areas around the peace bridge , and look a little further up river you will see spots for shore fishing, good areas are by the train bridge you will see it on google map and a little further up from there you will see a wall also good potential, also you will see the marina in that area . Remember the water is fast in these areas with a few good "calm" pools. Depth in these areas very from 6ft- 9ft deep from the shore line out deeper they are around 30ft to 75 ft in the middle closer to Chippawa it is very deep 90ft out in the middle and 10-12ft at the shore line

Also there is No weed growth in the area right now, I still feel like it will be a least 3weeks or more before the conditions are back to normal for the upper.

As for the lower I have not been down in a few weeks, knowing how much sh-t is flowing over the falls and the ice-bridge breaking up is think it will be messy down there.

Here is a couple links that might help you for the lower : http://www.niagarafishing.net/forums/index.php?s=900b2e0e4a722370726ed5b46ab91757&showforum=106ope

hope this helps you out a bit, good luck

FYI the scenery on the lower is awe inspiring, the upper not so much ( depending on the area) ( further down river closer to Chippawa is very nice but out towards the peace bridge it is ok), but the are BIG fish in these waters! I have caught many trophy fish in these waters.

Cheers
Bow Man

Cheers and good luck. Do not get discuraged if you get skunked a few times, THERE are very big fish in those waters it is well worth the effort and patiences to catch them, Once bass season opens, there are huge smallies in there as well as lake erie, erie is awesome for bass. i know it is a little harder from shore but you will catch fish. Just look for the minnows...... where they are big fish are close behind. ;)

The quarry in sherkston shores has some perch and that. Look for the rocks to the right of the beach. Every time I have been there there are always people out.
