So for labour day weekend, we rented a cottage up on McPhees Bay near Barry's Bay and Combermere, north of Bancroft. I had to work the Friday and Saturday, so I didn't make it up til Saturday night around 10pm, got unpacked and readied my gear for an early start and a day of non stop fishing and relaxing.
Sunday morning, was up before the sun with my ultralight in hand, took the pup down to the dock for some panfish action before everyone else was awake, ended up with around 30 or so bluegill, and few small yearling largemouth.
once we had so,me breakfast, we headed out on to the water with hopes high and a great sunrise over the highlands!
with not much happening for the morning bite we headed back in for some beach time
After Lunch, I took out my inflatable boat with my daughter and my trusty ultralight and headed out for the lily pads across the inlet
I set the hook for her, she reeled in the fish, her first ever fish!
Around 4pm, we headed back out in the aluminum boat to try the evening bite, and we weren't disappointed, ended with a total of 5 hammer handles, a handful of panfish, some bass, and dinner plate sized crappie!
Sunset on the water before heading back at dark for some bbq steaks courtesy of a certain butcher!
Fireside steaks or the best
Can't wait to go back next year!
