I'm gonna be hitting a small stream with one of my friends on Saturday for some small Brooks and bows. The only concern is that the river is literally only about two feet wide. I would assume the current is fast due to its size but I don't know for sure. Would it be worth fly fishing there or would my fly just drift too fast for such a tiny creek. If it is worth it. What are some tips you can give me on how to fish this water and what kind of flies should I use, egg patterns, streamers, hendricksons ect...

Any help is appreciated. I'm still a noob :p

for a creek that small use wighted nymphs or add a split shot or to to get it down and just high stick i wouldnt worry about streamers i would have some egg patterens and some san waun worms you could bring some hendricksons with you but i dont see them hatching yet everything is running alittle behind if its as nice as the forecast says you still may see some little black stoneflys but for the most part the trout will feed all sub surface hatchs really dont start untill the water temp hits 50 degrees i could be wrong abot that bt i remember hereing that some where hope that helps

Let me know how that "little" stream does. I have been wanting to fish it forever. If its the same one from our town u speak of

Look for small pockets of holding water...deeper water and undercut banks that will provide cover for trout...I would be throwing small weighted nymph patterns...prince, pheasant tail, chironomids, caddis etc.

this is what I will be doing this weekend...booyaaa --and guiga don't forget a PM report buddy

I wouldnt opt out of using a small streamer and hovering it infront of fish also. Use same tech as high stickinng but let the streamer hover at the end. Kinda like a mini swing. Brooks can be aggresive and like to eat meat. Small zonkers tied on number 10 hooks as well as small buggers can get aggresive fish hiding in cover to charge. Stay low and be stealthy....

make sure you blend with your surroundings pretty well. avoid unnecessary movements. if you find a good pool. hold it and take time. One thing i learn...when a brookie get spooked...they do comeback to the area their holding (or could it be a different fish?) but it takes a while (15+ minutes).

go royal wulff or red humpy for faster water
early morning 5am go BWO
guide's choice hare's nymph or mayflies nymph like baetis nymph for weedy riffles
don't forget to pm me your result ;)
good luck

id bring the shortest spinning rod you have with you as well in case the fly rod gets frustrating on such a small river.
