I had tried there last weekend and got nothing, although I had seen some fish jumped up and splashed.
Hi i' m kind of a rookie and I live really close to Milne Dam and was wondering what would be the better spots of the conservation area to fish from shore and also what kind of lures and bait to use. I would be super grateful for any advice.
Let's meet up! Send me a pm if you're interested and we can go there one evening. I haven't been there in a month, and I'd love to go back.
This is an open invitation for anyone, just pm me. More lines in the water, the better. There're carp, some decent fish.
I'm at Markham and 16th.
I can do that time since I hve a day off I might be at scugog in the morning to see if i can land something. What is there at the milne darn? Never been there before. I only have lures or bass and panfish so I hope thats okay
Sure we can do that how do you wanna set this up? I was gunna shore fish but would love to be out on the water. How early do you normally go? And I'm sure we can fit 3 in 1 canoe?
Yup the 3 of us will fit! We'll have to do it another time, I have to cancel on you guys for Scugog.
Also, I wont' be able to make Milne either. I have a lot of preparation to do for California
Sorry guys! Hopefully when I get back we can organize this!
I have been fishing Milne more often than I need to. Only seen carp there now. I don't know what else is in there but on the other side of the dam (rouge river) I've lost bass on Mr. Twister...I've seen steelheads but small and i don't bother. South of 407, small creek by the golf course, seen a small pike follow my Johnson weedless minnow spoon. Missed 2 strikes on slow retrieve. be prepared to get wet if you go early in the morning. I'm going to the bluffs under the bridge ( my sweet pike spot ).
I live in Markham and I talked to and old local who used to maintain the Milne Dam Park. He said there used to be Walleye and Pike in there... can you believe that!
Insane!
Right now you're right it's just carp. But I don't have any problem catching carp, I quite enjoy it.
