This has been brought up in another forum and I'm not sure if it's been discussed before, but I feel this deserves more attention.

Essentially, since January, our hunting and fishing license information are being kept by a company in Tennessee, called Active Outdoors. Personally, it's such a bone headed move and how this got around in the first place is completely lost to me.

There are countless issues at hand, but for the most part, our privacy may be at jeopardy due to the American's Patriotic Act and also the fact we're outsourcing jobs from Ontario to the US.

Anyhow, you could read a bit about it here or Google it for other sources.

This is an outrage in my opinion. What can we do about it?

This does not surprise me one tiny bit. I do not think it's the right way to handle Canadian's personal information but it's going to continue.
There's a lot more of your information available to the world that most people are unaware of & how easy it is to get.

A month back I listened to a seminar on privacy issues & one example given was this...........

If you call for delivery from Boston Pizza, ( Canada & Us ) they regularly sell blocks of customer information to enforcement agencies, marketing companies & anyone that want's to pay for it. In any country. Your Name, address, phone number, credit card number, allergic to green peppers etc. Whatever is on their database about the customer. Do you use air miles ?? Public Library, NetFlix, it goes on & on lol

Having a private company outside my country handling my private hunting & fishing information ,to me , is very objectionable. If I was to go Hunt & Fish in the US I would understand sharing that information but, not until I fill out the necessary license.

Going to look into this some more. Thanks for the information FrankTheRabbit......... ha, I just got the reference to your name ! Kinda scary if you associate yourself with Frank but great movie.
