Went down to Port Credit 2 days ago and managed to catch a 22 lb carp. Have been at the Rouge River the past 2 days and have caught 4 carp ranging from 14 lb to 21 lb.

Anyone know some good locations within the GTA where big carp are located?

Any avid fisherman out there who can explain to me the patterns of carp. Why is it that during the warmer days, the carp are non existence during the 3 hour feeding frenzy from 6-9 while on cooler days they are all over the place. I am talking in regards to river openings like the Rouge river and the Humber River. I spent three days trying to catch a monster carp at the Humber mouth and not one fish. I was even further up stream where the marshes begin and still no carp. Any input?

Because of the irradict weaher conditions, should i now treat this mid may as if it was mid july and head further up stream?

Two big carp of the year. 22 lb and 21 lb. still no where near the 39 lb mark for the record.

Some great looking fish there. Well done. In regards to your question, I say try different techniques and tactics. keep reading the water and try different parts of the river. You will have more carp ( and larger ones) in the river mouth and lower stretches area because they are spawning in May. After the water warms up around June most will start returning to the Lake.

One can make it as complicated or simple as they want but it looks like your on the right path already. Good luck!
