I went out last night to try my hand at picking some worms. As usual my backyard is fairly devoid of life, it has gotten a bit better since I redid my lawn and added a bunch of top soil so hopefully next year will be better picking on my lawn. I decided to hop on my bike and head down to the elementary school in the neighborhood that is right beside a forest. Boy was I rewarded! I didnt catch a ton of worms (maybe 30-40 all night between the two spots but wow were they ever huge! Ive never seen anything like it, stretched out they must have been almost two feet long. The worm beside the monster worm in the picture is an average sized dew worm that I am used to seeing. Can't wait to busy these out on some chocolate milk conditions!

Sorry for the massive pic, the photo uploading site i usually use isnt working this morning.

holy king kong dewy!!!!
we have been doing well with the 3 inch "big reds" lately! my novice cuz outfished me almost 2-1 with them last weekend. and they were my worms!!!!! looked into bulk for them but only flats of 5000

Ya man, maybe a bit less but they were huge. I got them all in the same 75'x75' section in the schoolyard. They were all completely out of their holes so it made for easy picking, I was thinking that they probably stretch out as much as they can to soak up the most moisture. They were very slimy lol.

lol I hope they dont stretch out like that when i fish with them. If they do ill have to wait a good 10 seconds before setting the hook lol

WOW! Those are some big worms.

Check out his massive worm: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/discoblog/2009/04/09/barry-the-giant-sea-worm-fantasy-turns-real-in-the-uk/

Mr. Noob:

Link wouldn't engage. So I did a Cut & Paste on it, went there, and dragged it all the way back here.

Now we'll see if it works. Probably NOT.

Well? I'm sort of Tech Savvy. I just enjoying doing whatever I usually "Teach Myself" how to do.

I have a Nice Little, Easy To Use, Artsy Fartsy program on here that does all that Resizing, Labelling, Cleaning Up, Etc.

My Permission? ABSOLUTELY!! I'm flattered that you would do that.

Asking Permission to do so tells me a bit about "Who You Are". I'm pleased with that "Respect" on your part. Thank You!

Also. If ANYTHING I put on here can be of use to ANY Member of OFF please Feel Free to Download it.

Just for FUN here's one I Downloaded a few days ago as a "Wallpaper" (FULL Screen Size"). Fiddled around with it to bring it down to a smaller size etc. Perhaps "The Survivor" would be a good name for it.

Rick

PS: The Image you have now is 350x350 Pixels. I'm not sure what size will fit best as your Avatar so I resized it (Below) and bumped it up to 45x450 Pixels. Also "Greened" it up a little. It's not as "Sharp" as I would like but you can only do so much when the initial picture is that small.

Also, the Picture you will see in the "Site Viewer" from the Thumbnail is quite a bit Larger than the "Real Image". It "Views" at 6-7/8 Inches. The Actual Picture is about 5-1/4 Inches. So the Clarity is "Worser" than it actually is. As an Avatar it will probably go to it's actual size.

Thats awesome.. I seen it once actually walking home from a ufc night at a local pub. walked across a malls parking long and almost couldnt not step on these ridiculously massive worms a foot or more long it was the odds thing i ever seen. If I wasn't walking home for a ufc night wobbly i totally would have grabbed a bunch..

Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words. Although I some how cannot get it work... Says the photo is too big. I keep playing with it until I succeed. Cheers.

Noob:

I checked the Avatar thing. It says Max size is 90x90 Pixels, which is the size of mine..

The ones that are there in My Posts as Thumbnails are 100x100 Pixels. They should work.

You can put your Cursor on it "Right Click", on Menu, Click "Properties", size will show in their.

You might try, on the Thumbnails, "Right Click" and "Save Picture As" to somewhere on your Computer. Just to check the size after, run your Cursor over it and it will tell you what size it is.

Then do the "Avatar" thing in Your Profile and downlod one of them, or try each one to see whch one you like the best.

No sense me downloading again, it will just be the same size.

GOOD LUCK!!

Rick

From what I've seen you appear to be a BASS Fisherman. DITTO Here! Love using Top Water Lures!

I haven't been out lately for various reasons. Pic is from 2 Years ago. BUCKETMOUTH!! (Always Live Release)

From Cooks Bay on Lake Simcoe. Attached an OLD Map but Updated. Don't dare show EXACT Location, might get Booted off Here

It's South of The Keswick Line. Some Nice PIKE in there also.

Okay. I found a few in here. The "Horizontal Bass" came out of the "Fallen Submerged Trees".

He Hit on a Berkley, Large Black Leech on a Wide Gap Bass Hook.....One Small Split Shot Weight for a Slow Drop. About 3 Seconds and BAMM!!

At the top Right Corner of the "Fallen Tree" Pic.

A Couple by Topwater. Hula Popper, or Heddon Wounded Zara Spook, or a Jitterbug.

The one Close Up hit a Big Fat Live Dew Worm Suspended on a Drifting, Red & White Float.

Well. It's only 4:25 AM  'Bout time for BED!!!

Rick

PS: All Live Release as usual.
