Most Affordable Depth Reading Sonar

Hey Guys and Girls,

Im looking for an affordable light weight sonar that is excellent at measing the depth of a stream or river while moving downstream. I understand the more you spend the better you will get, but Im looking for an inexpensive one. Doesnt need to be great at finding fish, just finding the distance to the bottom of the river! I t will be used in/on a white water kayak while heading down the rapids.

The portable Humminbird models are relatively inexpensive and should fit your application. Besides being transferable amongst watercraft, the take two 4.5V batteries so you don't need the extra weight of carrying a big marine battery.

I believe I saw them on sale at Lebaron's for roughly $150.
