After weeks of catching lots of crappie and other assorted panfish, it was much appreciated to be rewarded with a larger fish that actually pulled drag and fought hard.

This was my 4th time this season going out for lakers.

Hope the remainder of the season brings more.

Keep at it guys.

Nice Laker. Looks like you caught it on a white tube with red hook. One of my favourite lures for these guys. NIce to see you return the fish. It took a long time to get to that size. Did you catch it in MUskoka??

good job landing that boy...
still have to land mine, although i did have few on the line and making some runs.
is that simcoe? looks close to shore.
congrats again.

The red treble is actually a stinger hook.
No, not a muskoka fish. I wish it was though!
I was up in the Muskokas a few weekends ago and did alright for lakers...unfortunately they were all on the small side.

Yeh, the Muskoka fish have been on the small side this year for sure. You hear the odd big fish story, but nothing like in past years. Also every fish you catch is stuffed with tiny minnows. I think there was a bumper crop this year and the big Lakers just don't have a need to feed. Come up again. We have lots of space and any one of the three lakes are good for Lakers.
