Tis the season .. has anyone been on the prowl for these monsters?
Would really like to check out St Clair but the boat is in the shop ... has anyone ever caught one from shore?

Tis the season. It is? That's why I never caught one.............lol. One guy I went fishing with told me about muskies in the Trent River caught from shore. Ever been out that way? I have but was'nt going after them.

Good luck.

Will be going to my cottage at Canal Lake this weekend to try my hand at a Musky! Will settle for some pike... hell even some perch. Will report back if there is anything to report back as soon as possible.

Went up to my cottage Friday night and decided to do some night fishing on Canal Lake for the first time ever. Threw minnows and worms out there... with the worms producing 3 brown bullhead. Slow night, but my buddy and I lovin the atmosphere of night fishing, definitely the first attempt of many. Got up early the next morning to a slow start.. until about an hour an my buddy caught a beautiful 4 pound LM on a perch minnow. Will post the pic as soon as my USB connection to my phone starts co-operating with me. Not much action after that so we decided to move to the Trent Canal on Hwy.12. It was perch after perch there, but no jumbos to report. Wasn't the most productive outing, but we still had a great time just getting out of the city and from school and work.

Glad you had a SAFE & GOOD TIME!
Nothing wrong with slayin tons of perch.

ps: I waited 3-4 weeks to get a new USB cable I ordered from the internet for my camera. Dam Sony Cybershot makes "Proprioriary" (Spell that right?) - anyway .... NO UNIVERSAL cables.
Bunch of Idiots. You want to piss off a customer, keep that kind of Sheet up!

Thanks for update

This very nice guy down in the Niagara region posted this MONSTER just the other day.
Apparently ... he has been getting quite a few of them.

FIGGIN BEAUTIFUL MONSTER:

Wow that looks amazing. Will be heading out again to try my luck tomorrow til Tuesday. I was just wondering: Does lowering the water level of a lake affect the fish? On Canal Lake the water is partly drained yearly, and have never been able to try fishing while the water is low..

Lol Loaded question

Sometimes .... the fish actually get more CONCENTRATED.
Other times ... they will run out an exit to deeper water or "other" destinations.

Definately, depending on time of year it can obviously change the Conditions drastically:

- Weed Cover
- Oxygen Levels
- Temperature

Best thing to ALWAYS do is: Give it a Go!

*SMILES*

Good luck! Hope you nail some

Last weekend water temps were in the mid to high 80's. Way to hot for musky. They cant handle much stress or time out of water when its this hot. Should you catch one please take care and make sure you take the time to revive it otherwise it will die. Saw a 40" floating dead a few weeks back, a dam shame

Best option right now is not to fish for them, give em a break until it cools.

you should have a good landing net or huge live well and if you can dont even take them out of the water.
