they spawn at the right temprature from oct to near opener, they are not like chinook. they can be spawning mid feb if they want to.

Hey, that's my spot! Kidding, congratulations putting in time helps took me a few outings before success as well. Haven't been out much this year but would meet up in the west sometime if schedules coincide.
