My fishing rod is blind

Apparently chubbs peterson got to my fishing rod during transportation. The top eye of my rod was poked out!

I was far away from home and still fished it for two days and it was fine, but I want to get it fixed. The outer metal ring is still there.. which I still ran line through.. but the "washer" type piece that is held in by the outer metal ring is now gone.

Is this something that will be warranted? I got this rod in December, so I am bummed it got biffed up so early.

FYI Raven 12'9 Matrix from Tightlines Pickering.

Try bringing it to tightlines and seeing what they can do. Raven is pretty good with their warranty claims too. You mean like the insert?

depending on the cost of shipping, and warranty work (i believe you pay 30 to raven), you may be better off to put a tip on yourself. see what tightlines says.

Typical of Raven rods...I and many others I've met on the water have lost the liners from their guides...they'll likely replace it

LOL...in fact Brian you were one of the guys I was thinking about when I ran into you on the water...
Frankly, I think Raven uses crappy guides...

Sounds like a simple $5-10 repair depending on the quality of guide you need to replace. Based on the replies before mine it sound closer to the $5 mark. Dont fish with it like that though or your line might break as soon as you hook a fish.

Raven's got a lifetime warranty but I believe there is a fee associated as Leakywaders stated. All those big fish you're catching putting a beating on that rod

hah well i've taken it out 4 days now since it busted up. 2 in the Niagara and 2 east. Bunch of fish, no line fray or anything but I can 'hear' it , it almost makes a vibration through the line, and adds drag at times when I dont want it, casting... drifting..

Today was enough. Took it in and they fixed it on spot. Just took it off (it was the top one) and replaced the whole guide in a couple minutes. No fee. +1 to Tightlines. Stoked to not have this BS to deal with next time I am out there.
