Just picked up a new reel. Always been in love with the Shimano brand as everything i have bought of theres has lasted me years. I Went to Bass Pro Shops in Vaughn and purchased the Shimano Stradic CI4 reel. It cost me around $240. I also purchased some nice fishing line to go with, i got the Power Pro Slick 8 line. I tried out both reel and line this weekend and it was amazing. Totally worth the money. The reel was so quite and fluid with every cast and the line was superb.

Very nice reel, you have to show us the first fish caught with it. Even my 20 year old Shimanos still work they are just out dated, too much wobble. Low or high end Shimano means long lasting quality.

Congrats and looking forward to seeing your catches.

I was so close to getting that reel on boxing week but ended up settling for the Saros, also a superp reel. One of my favorite features of both reels is the extra spool lol. I wish more reels came with them, most of the time you have to spend an extra $30-40 for the extra spool. Now I can have mono or braid available while bringing out one rod and reel. I guess all of the other superior features are perks as well...lol

Edit:

Oh I also just got the superslick the other day too. Rainbow Sports had it for the same price as the old stuff in bulk. I really like the way it feels, very round and smoothe.

That is a gorgeous reel. What rod do you have paired up with it? Cheers.

right now i have it paired up with a shimano scimitar graphite rod its not a new model but its around 6 years old. i need to do some research and get a better one. I am going to go to bass pro shops and try and match one up with something nice. I just couldnt afford some of the ones i wanted while i was purchasing the reel.

Yep
Great reels I have two of them, one I use and the other my sons. Really light and smooth.
I use it more than my 2500FJ
