Just like to kno peoples opinions of what line they use for there setups

Thanks

Oh man thats a toughy, lol. If you can find Andy line it's great, last time I was at al flaretys they had it, eight pound is ideal and ten pound is just as good but lacks castability. Raven is also a great brand, it's a very limp and buoyant line, with decent strength, I wish I was running it right now.
Currently, I'm running p-line, its pretty good, but has a memory.

A lot of guys will say this is a no-no but almost before every trip I will tie my line to something and pull back on it to straighten it out and make it more limp. It definatley effects the durability of it, but your lead line should always be weaker then your main. I've never had an issue and seldom do I break off above my lead.

I've hear suffix is good as we and is much more convenient, almost at every Canadian tire.

I have that same rod, great bang for the buck!! For chrome I usually run 8# mono with either a 6 or 4# leader. For nooks ill just run straight 10 pound mono and if I see a trout ill through on a leader, but the salmon are not as line shy as trout.

Good luck this weekend!!

Id say raven for one reason only - good line for a great price. I used to run siglon which was a better line but I would pay 15 bucks for 300 yds while I am now paying 10.99 for 750 yards or something like that. I find the raven line twists more but since its so cheap I actually take off 50 yards every couple of times I go out. If you havent bought the reel yet check out the okuma sheffield, Its under $200 bucks and I have that the reel I have so i'm partial to it. I know Float_On has an aventa maybe he can let you know what its like but my sheffield spins for over 3 minutes and I dont take great care of it.

What can I say? Great minds think alike. Im bringing a bunch of cigars to the Geen trip as well which if I remember correctly you are into as well? Im not sure they will be up to your standard but they are a huge step up from century sams!

I used Trilene XL for quite sometime and Trilene Sensation, they worked well. My friend put me on Raven and I hated it at first but now I like it... cheap and decent. I've tried Siglon, Sunline, P Line ( they might be the same products, I forget exactly what I used )... didn't really like them, don't remember why. Once the Raven runs out I'll be trying out Ande, been hearing nothing but good things about that line. Word of advice : If your main line starts to give, peel out 20 meters from your reel to get into the "fresher", less abused line... mono wears from exposure to sun, weather, structure... don't risk loosing a fish to main line snapping.

10lb Ande
This is the first season I am running something other than Ande.. It will always be my goto line because it has never let me down.
-Currently running nanofil and I must say that I am very impressed.

Thanks for the input guys .... think i will pick up some raven 6 and 8

antisipation for this trip is killin me !!! lol

See ya on the Rivers

6lb ande is what I used last season. Great line but u pay the price with line twist if u side cast :( I've tried 3 diff brands this season, and waiting on a spool of suffix promix to try out.

Promix has a good following on the ff.net board.

Let me know if you are going to pick some up. I might try 10 lb

i ordered a spool of 8lb last night from centerpin angling but hes out of stock he'll have some next week. if i like it i will get 10 as well.

I use ande for just about everything. When I got a float reel last fall I started using ande on it as well. No complaints seems to work well and I'll stick with it.

I heard the nanofil does not work well in colder weather.
I have been reading that as well.. but it seems to be a split between those who have success and those who don't. I have noticed that I need to shed some line after a days fishing (esp after fighting a lot of big fish) Because it does have a tendency to Fray. But even frayed.. it did not let me down.

We will see how the cold affects the line, but I think the only issue may be sharp edges from the ice.. I have 6 spools of Ande at home, so I can always switch to that if necessary.. :)
