Hi me and my friend are just getting into fishing in the hamilton area and haven't had much luck, Idk if it's because we don't really know what we're doing or were fishing bad spots. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mountsberg conservation
Fishing: white jig and bobber
Floating frogs
Daredevil weedless spoon

Binbrook conservation
Fishing: same tackle as previous

Any help as far as good spots and tackle rigging would be awesome, I haven't reeled in a good fish since I was a kid and I miss the fight

keep on casting lures ...... fish are there ...... keep casting ..... don't expect to catch on every cast ... just cast eventually you will catch later on. you can move to other spots too.

Its probably because of your inexperience, talk to your local tackle shop to learn the latest in fishing, read up, watch fishing shows-basically educate yourself.

As for fairly basic rigs learn how to texas rig a senko (plastic stick worm) and fish this in the weeds

fish are in pretty much every body of water. questions are:, are they feeding? how aggressive are they? which spots are they at? how concentrated are they?

so basically you have to work many spots along the shore (i assume you're fishing from shore) and try several different presentations. takes a lot of patience and perseverance. but sometimes you strike out all together.

just today i was fishing a pond for 1.5 hours with several colours and a few different types of lures. it wasn't until the 3rd spot at the end i found the treasure with 4 decent fish.

keep trying and keep learning.

That's a great question. One of the best ways to start fishing a new area is with livebait. This also gives you the ability to talk to the local bait and tackle store about location and what baits are hot at the moment. Once you started to catch the species on livebait maybe try to imitate the bait with artificial lures. I think you will find the results to be rewarding.

Thanks,

Henry Nguyen
