New from Markham

Hey guys/gals

I have recently started fishing and getting obsessed over it, the gf is getting mad at me that I'm spending money on bait every week.

So far I've been to Lake Wilcox with no success, Rice lake with no success, Trent river with some good SM catches, Heart lake with only a few tiny LM bass.

Still learning the ways of angling such as different techniques, what kind of equipment are good.


Looking forward in learning more from this forum.

Welcome to the forum! There is a ton of information here, just got to sort through it. Try doing searches for your target species for tips and tricks. Also you can use google earth to scope out new locations.

Welcome to OFF. I'm from Markham too. It seems like you're really into this. There are tons of water around markham you can fish. I hear you regarding GFs not getting enough time now. Fishing is a very time consuming hobby. Trust me, it's either she gets upset or you get frustrated for not having enough time fishing. The trick is to be good on your non fishing days. And be rewarded a whole day of fishing. This coming from a married man with 2 kids....Enjoy and tight lines.

Welcome code85 I've had good luck fishing for Bass with Berkley Gulp Minnows as a substitute for live Minnows.
When the bite is on they hit them like L4D Macho Zombies in a Slim Jim Factory..
