New guy in Barrie

New guy in Barrie here. Trying to get more into the sport as my kid gets a little older. I'm hoping that it's something she'll continue to enjoy and spend some time with dad out on the water.

I have a little canoe that we fish from, but more often than not we end up at the boat launch or dock to catch a some perch and a couple gobies.

I have an Abu Garcia Specialist combo that I've had for a couple years, and just got a Cabelas 7' heavy rod that I'm going to try to catch some bass out of the reeds on little lake with.

Love that rod, I have 3. Specialist combo is a good light-medium workhorse if you get it on one of their twice annual sales (90 regular down to 30 or 35).

Its actually discontinued but they now have the specialist 2.0, super fancy, again wait for the sale to pick it up

Sometimes keeping them busy is the hardest part lol. I alternate with mine by going to a panfish infested lake every other trip, when we go to a lake for me she brings coloring books, skipping rope, bucket & shovel, etc... usually works out with minimal complaints
