Hello, My name is David

Just googled sites to that is fisherman friendly for ontario people, came on this site and loving. I been living in toronto for pretty much my whole life, just seriously start picking up fishing, since you can fish all year long pretty much such a wonderful sport. Was amazed with all the knowledge this site possesses and the community you guys have built. Would love to join in on the action as well, if anyone feels like throwing a few tips my way to catch my fish of a life time :D . Gone fishing in Rice Lake, Lake Scugog and Lake Ontario shore/boat rentals but not much luck maybe here and there. I Love the action from bass if anyone knows a few tips on catching a big smallie or largemouth love to hear it. Anyways Look forward to being a part of ontario fishing community.!

Haha, thats quite serious a week of camping, UMM! interesting.
A few family friends and etc are going to algonquin national park!
i heard the bass there are still under pressure as well but i think it would be more of better fishing location if i were to say go to rice lake. I would go with a buddy but we simply dont have the knowledge on catching these beautys.
I been using hooks and worms, but also been trying out soft plastic baits such as senkos, tubes, and other worms/shads/lychees combination no luck. Should i switch over to 10 pound braid with a fluorocarbon leader? heard that does the trick.
Was thinking about purchasing a BELLY BOAT! so i can explore solo at pog lake/whitefish lake in algonquin. If anyone got any insights be useful to me send a post!

I think rice lake would have way more pressure for bass than the algonquin lakes. For plastics i have always crushed bass and pike using 4.5" yum vibra tubes in the natural colours on a 3/0 offset wide gap hook and a 1/2-3/8oz bullet weight rigged texas weedless. Just get int a thick weedbed and cast it out and work it back to the boat with small hops, and let it sink when the bait is on deeper holes within the weedbed.
Small crankbaits like rapalas, topwater baits like buzzbaits, skitterpops, hulapoppers have all caught me a ton of nice bass. 1/2 - 1oz spinnerbaits have also caught me a ton of bass. Shallow water use colorado blades and for deeper water use willowleaf blades.
If you are going to get a boat grab a canoe, preferably a flatback canoe if you'd like a small outboard motor. You'll be able to go solo in a canoe, but you'll also be able to take a buddy with you as well. If you do grab a canoe, get some experience with it and portaging and then send me a pm once experienced. I have a few lakes that you can get 50+ bass a day each person, but you have to be fairly well versed in canoing and portaging the wild.(one lake has a 1.5km portage and another 200 m portage) I took a guy there a few years back and we stopped counting at 130 largemouth bass in 1.5 days.(camped overnight one night)
