Bro in law got a new 18' Legend. Used today as a learning experience as previously we had been restricted to Kawarthas and G-bay Harbours. This time it was the open water of G-bay. We're used to fishing weeds from inflatables and 12 footers with a 9.9 and fishing for smallies was new to us as well.

Didn't spend all that much time actually fishing but the one that we did land was a nice bronze beauty and my new PB. Got him on a 2 foot shoal. Literally fought it for over a minute as he refused to be netted. Up down left right and under the boat numerous times.

What do you think, 4lbs? My Berkley scale that's about 8 years old said 3lb 12oz. But I've always felt it's not accurate. I'm 5'9.5 165lbs.

Congrats on your new PB.

But...

No point arguing scale readings, or asking for speculations of actual weight based on a photograph. If knowing the actual weight matters that much to you, and you feel your scale is inaccurate, either calibrate the scale or get a new one. Otherwise, if it doesn't matter that much, just take it as 3lb 12oz.

Congrats on your new PB!

You weren't wearing your lucky raptors hat that day?
lol. good memory. i actually had it on but when we got up to speed i had to take it off as i was sitting on the back bench. then when we stopped i got up and started fishing.

didn't really need it till later when the sun got higher.

Congrats! Switching from inflatable suits you :)
i wish that was permanent.

went out on inflatable next day in small bass lake and got skunked in 3 hours for the first time in about 25 visits to that lake. water is low and super warm. this summer really affected the bite.
