I am now officially looking forward to spring (I will even try to get in some fishing in between turkey hunting). In anycase I am looking for a new medium action (M to ML) spinning rod and was curious who gives the best value for the $$

My other rod is a 6'6" medium fast Diawa Terra Nova and it is amazing, but I have not tried any others out there. I am going to pick one up at either the fishing show or the sportsman show. I have been looking at the following:

- Berkley Tactix
- Fenwick GT
- Shimano Convergerance
- or another Terra Nova

It would be used for primarily bass, walleye, and pike.

I would recommend the Shimano Convergence, I bought an Ultra-light version, and paired it with Shimano Sedona 1500FB w/ 6-8 lb. test Stren Magnathin, it has to the best rig I've ever used for smaller fish (panfish & bass), I got so much value out of it for the price I paid. 1stly its a quality brand rod (not a cheapo brand) you get what you pay for, it wasn't too cheap but it wasn't expensive either, it came in 2 piece (great for saving space & mobility), its ultra sensitive, I can usually cast further with this setup than my baitcasters (fishing line & reel could've helped with that), and I've had soo much fun catching fish on that UL rod (panfish, and pickeral and bass), ironically I've caught more fish with this setup than most of my heavier baitcasting rigs.

My best battles while bringing fish in have been on this rod (specifically pond fishing) so I guess I'm kinda biased, a lot of my fishing buddies always want me switch my rig with theirs, can't say I blame them, I always have to insist that they use their own gear ! :) lol

shimano convergence all teh way.
i have the exact same UL setup that snypa posted...
i lvoed it so much that i went ahead and got a medium convergence with a sedona 2500.
great for bass, pike and walleye...which is what i got the setup for.
this setup is for my gf, and i use it occasionally...
myself, i use a shimano compre mated with a shimano stradic for bass, pike and walleye.
