Hi,

This is my first post. I've been scouting the usual spots around the GTA and it seems there are mixed reviews or "hit or miss" but then again fishing is part luck. I checked TTP, Milne Dam, Bluffer's and will be checking out Rouge Park and Frenchman's Bay as well. This will be the spots I will be frequenting as these are the closest to home. I've seen the Rouge River snaking all the way to Lake Ontario. just wanted to ask if it's legal to fish where it's accessible on this river. Some parts are secluded and fenced by some Golf courses. But there are some accessible by using walk trails. thanks.

Just watch for signs along the Rouge, or anywhere else you go. I have'nt seen any myself but with property owners you'd hope they would post them and some do. When I went with Garfieldthecat we did'nt come across any. We fished from Kingston Rd to the Zoo. I never tried the upper Rouge this time of year, usually by the mouth there are pike, bass and panfish. Who knows maybe I'll get my fly rod out and try it.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

thanks for the info. I will be checking for signs and most along the golf courses is barbed so I don't even bother. but by where I am, there is a walking trail and it seems it's open for public but it's like a hidden path. And just found out that the Markham Green Golf Course is open for public so I might need to check if I can get in. Based from the map and from outside looking in. they have some deep bends inside the course.

Welcome brother--you'll have plenty of fishing opportunities come the fall

The Rouge has always FRUSTRATED ME!

lol Seriously, if it's close to home then LEARN IT and FISH IT well my friend!

There are lots of suckers in the spring. Carp, Bass .... STEELIES (rainbows) in the fall.

I just have not ever had that much luck in there, so I gave up on it.

Spend my time going just a little more east to DUFFINS.

With the GO TRAIN and BUS... you can make it out to AJAX or OSHAWA with hardly any effort.

Just my thoughts.
