Hey guys,

First off, great site you got here! Spent a while looking for a good fishing forum from your side of the world and I've defenitely found it.

In a couple of months (late April/early May) I'll be moving over to Canada to spend a year or so in my partners home country. I visited last year but only managed about a month over there, the family lives in Niagara but i got up to Muskoka and Algonquin briefly. The whole of Canada is beautifull but cottage country was just amazing!

As far as the fishing went, it was a shock to be a complete beginner again. I've been fishing for about 16 years but everything is different over here. I have only ever fished in the ocean and for very different species of fish using very different tackle and techniques, so I'm afraid I'm gonna have some stupid questions.... Please excuse me, I will try to research as much as I can before asking. Hopefully the different terminology wont take me too long to get the hang of.

Looking at my gear and after a bit of reading I think the only piece of equiptment I have thats gonna be worth bringing is my 2500 stradic CI4, I use it for light tackle spinning over here running either 15 or 20lb braid. I figure that with a new rod designed for lighter cast weights that should be enough to get me started (hopefully). Did a bit of bass fishing last time I was over there and they are a great fish, good fight for their size and put on some great acrobatics!

Not sure where we will be staying at the moment but most likely it will be Niagara area so I guess the gorge might me my local spot?

Looking forward to seeing more of your country, experiencing some of your fishing, reading and (hopefully) posting some reports and maybe meeting a few of you along the way.

Cheers and tight lines,

Adam
