New to the forum and I thought I would say hi. I am an outdoors writer that spends most of my time chasing steelhead, but that doesn't mean I'm opposed to catching anything that swims. I look forward to being a contributing member of the forum.

Welcome! What setup do you use and what is your favorite tactic?

Thanks for the welcome guys. I try not to limit myself to one specific method, although I find it harder and harder to put the centerpin down, there really is nothing like it, and even though I've been 'pinning for close to 15 years I seem to enjoy it more every year. As far as the 'pins go, I run multiple set ups depending on what I'm targeting. I run rods from St. Croix and G-Loomis, and Islander, Stanton and Raven reels. The Islander has been through hell and back and still works as good as the day I got it.

My wife says I'm obsessed, and honestly I have to agree with her.

Nice reply. Never tried centerpinning, the fly guys took me first! Sounds like something, I'd be interested in trying though.
