Hi everyone, I found this site searching for some local LM Bass fishing. Im in Brampton and Im looking to do lots of bass fishing this summer. I don't have much of a fishing history. When I was younger I would fish for panfish. My greatest moment came when I caught a LM Bass at Norton Place Park (over 10 years ago). I was pretty pumped because I never thought they were in there.

These are the places that I plan to frequently fish from the shore throughout the summer.

Loafer's Lake
Norton Place Park
Kelso Park
Mountsberg
Hilton Falls
Ken Whillians

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My friends are also renting a lake side cottage in Bala Muskoka. I plan to fishing from the shore and canoe.

Lastly, any tips on tackle I should be carrying for bass? As well as what line would you recommend.

Thanks

Hey Welcome to the site!

LM Bass tackle....theres a species that will grab darned near anything!!
My favorites lures are:
Topwater:
Hula Popper in the largest size in the flourescent green and red/white...black if night fishing
Rapala Skitter pop in the brown frog pattern

Crankbaits:
J-11 Rapala in silver and perch
Rapala Fat Rap
Rebel crayfish (bigger version)

Plastics:
Yum 4.5" tube baits (greens browns and white)
SLuggo 4-5"

Spinnerbaits:
1/2-1oz white, green, yellow

Between those listed lures you will get largies for sure. For line its all about preferance. I have used berkley trilene XT/XL for years and its suited me very well. Now i use berkley trilene big game and its a very good cheap line.
