New to Toronto fishing

Hi everyone,

I'm planing my first ever fishing trip in Toronto for this weekend. I'm slightly aware of the regulation change that's coming into effect for the GTA so I'm confused as to where I can and cannot fish. I'm looking into either Ashbridges Bay or Toronto Island, does anyone know if its safe to cast from either of those? and where on the Island is a good spot?. Also, where can I find bait (in particular worms since its what I've fished with before)? I've only ever fished in a tiny town in QC and they sell bait there everywhere.
Any tips are appreciated as I only very recently picked up the sport.

Hey mate..

yes and yes to both the Islands and Ashbridges.

My advice - go the island, more places to fish, plus its a nice photo op on the way back (downtown GTA) if all else fails.

I think the reason you are not getting any replies here, is cause all this information is on the forum. Read some of the posts, and get yourself up to speed.

Went to Ashbridges Bay today.. around 7-8:30 sundown after dinner. a few anglers out on the boardwalk.. about 4 to be exact..

only bites i got were the misquitoes biting me all over... SOO many bugs out! ... hard to not breathe in a swarm of those little flies.

Anyways i did see carp jumping as usual.... i switched up only soft lure.. was too lazy to switch to spinner... ah well next time.



If anyone has caught anything on that boardwalk please let me know because it gets discouraging lol

Went to Ashbridges Bay twice, got skunked twice and bitten too much to consider it again. Try the island, it may be crowded with people, but the fish are there...
