was using this fly double bunny black/gray size 6 with my 6wt, is this to large of a fly to be tossing with a 6wt or is it ok

Well, since you say you have been using it already (and it looks wet), I guess it is OK with the 6wt. I see that it has weighted eyes, so if I was casting it I would use a bit more wrist flex to ensure an open loop. A fly that size with weight might drop a little on the cast and hit the rod - which would not be a good thing.

I thought a Double Bunny had a bunny strip on both the top and the bottom, but I don't see any 'tummy' in the picture.

yep, if you hit the rod with those eyes you could break your rod.. I rarely or never use lead eyes or beads or anything hard on my streamers.. better to wrap lead around the shank of the hook when you tie it.. or just be real carefull casting it. Also, if you plan on catch and release for the trouts well being pinch that barb down...

i was trying to target white bass down where i am , was using my 6wt with sink tip and the weighted fly to get it down deep, it's a bit difficult getting it out for much distance as my casting sucks.

Well, a sink tip is kind of hard to cast because you have to retrieve it until only the sinking part is in the water before you begin your backcast. And the sink tip will not float in the air as well as a floating line (because it is thinner) so if you use too much wrist the line will likely fall behind you - which makes the forecast harder too. Without getting into a lot of details, try to move the rod tip in a straight line as opposed to a rainbow arc, and don't throw your hand/arm forward on the cast - only move your elbow forward a little and stop the rod hard when your hand is in front but at the same level as your shoulder. Most time too much arm movement ruins a cast.

Yup...6 is good for sure...and Graham, good eye on the c+r issue with barb...everyone should be fishing barbless.

I don't think you need to use a sink tip for those white/silver bass. The weight of that fly will be enough to get it down because you don't really need to get too far down for these fish.
