newmarket and surrounding area without a boat

Hey all, Im looking for some local fishing spots in and around the newmarket area where I can get some action.. not picky of what sort of fish, just want to get out on a regular basis and catch. I don't have a boat yet, but am willing to drive in any direction.

let me know what's good, what's close and what to expect.. thanks

Well I'm happy to say that in just about any direction I've travelled out of Newmarket (and even right inside Newmarket, at Fairy Lake) I have found fish. Every stream and pond has given me fish.. I guess I just had to get out there and look.

Nicely done, I was going to suggest Uxbridge Mill Pond as a spot for good sized brook trout. There are other species in there too. Worms or small minnows under a float work well. It's attached to a brookie stream and is stocked every year for Huck Finn. They can get pretty big in there, 3lbs+.
