I've read so many interesting stories and seen so many great pictures, I'm finally planning my first ever trip to the Whirlpool. I have a 10" noodle rod I use for Ranbows in Georgian Bay a few floats, hooks and weights, but not much more. This will probably be a two or three day event, so any information on what to use, how to get there, where to stay, would be greatly appreciated. Probably going within the next couple weeks.

Many thanks........

Well that sounds like a pretty kickass couple of days there my man!. But my solid recommendation would be to hold off on your trip until mid to late march. Reason being there just aren't too many fish at the whirlpool right now. I've been there a couple of times in the last week or so with no luck. The question "maybe this guy just sucks?" will probably come to your mind, but I myself and a few others on the local boards have had the same results. Except for the one dude on floatfishing.xxx that caught a muskellunge!!!!

my buddy was down thre few days ago, he was nail'in them, but he was only one getting any,
gullp minnoes 2-2 1/2 inch.rubber stopers for his floats. fish with a 14 foot leader. florocarbon.

i personaly have never been fishing there, i would think a fe sppons and spinners would help...
if ya have a spinning reel....

I was there Friday morning during the storm, Not a soul in sight. got cleaned out 2 times and lost 1 fish, not bad action for an hour of fishing in white out conditions. Just like anyplace there are good days and bad, you never know unless you try. It's a big area so you have to try several spots till you find where the fish are. Very easy to get to the whirlpool just google it. I will PM you better directions.
