Hey guys!

Just some additional questions I forgot to post in my initial Niagara Whirlpool Topic.

I might go there, and I'm just wondering if its worth the trip, or if I'm wasting my time.

It would be great if someone could suggest the 'do's' and 'dont's' of fishing there, what lures work best there, and as well as any other pieces of information I might need to know before going there.

Also a rather recent fishing report would be very helpful!

Thanks so much for the help :) !!

trust me its worth it if you dont catch a fish you still have the view if you DO catch the fish the fight is phenomenal pm me how it goes havent been down there in a couple years and want to see if its still what it was

It is worth it indeed. Smallies are perhaps your best bet although you may catch many other species. Be careful, it is the snag capital of the world, if you let your sinker or hook get close to the bottom, but that is where the fish are! Get yourself some No Snag sinkers, bait, and you should do well.

yup so snag sinkers are the best in snag cap. lol if you cant buy them take 3-4 hangars and cut off the length of the bottom ( the metal ones ) and duck tape them or hot glue them together to make a rod of 4 wires then take about 4 inches and bend them inot a L shape. the curve on the bottom will keep the weight bouncing off the bottom and only use what your willing to lose lol

It is worth the trip especially around the glen, the hike down is gorgous, and if you dont catch anything the views alone are amazing.

I go out there evry 2nd week and have been catch small mouths ( good size 3.5-4.5 pounds ) plus a few pike, My buddy has caught a few trout in the last couple weeks.

So it is well worth it, I would suggest early morning, i usally get there for 5:30-6:00 am

Not sure what it is called, but take the stairs down and stay to the left, there is a small clearing and a good point there. In the area is a "calm" spot where we see a lot of fish coming in to.

You can see the tunnel on the American side from this area.

And should I use topwater crankbaits there so I don't get snagged as much?
nope because no fish takes top water there. Use a spinner and count to 25 and start feeling, I'm going down there on Saturday pm me if you wanna go together
