Those are very nice residents! What was the weight on them? Most residents are much smaller than those.

Nice brownies me = jealous

I saw a big rezzie making its way through holding pools in another trib, wish I could have caught it for a photo op, those are beautiful fish :).

I thought at first that they were lake run Browns , but then we thought , why were we catching them in the spring time . Browns spawn in the fall and I've been told of the nice resident Browns that inhabit the Notty , but in 17 years on this river we have never even seen one ... spring or fall . They were both in the 2-3 lb. range , very healthy and we caught them on worms , with in a minute or two of each other .

The funny thing NADO is we caught these two in the very same spot you were standing in the day before in the last hour of our day .
Saturday , the hole full of steelhead and Sunday , two beauty Browns and 1 small steelhead .
I drop the line in the swirling water and got the first one on and Ray hit the second one before I released mine , talk about lucky ...
I would guess 2 - 3 lbs. each , they were pretty agressive fighters and we were both amazed to see they were Browns and not Steelhead .

Wow, that is a pretty special catch then.

I remember when I caught my first resident brown, I felt like Charlie holding the golden ticket. I saw it hugging the edge of the creek but I spooked it downstream. Decided to toss out a worm a few more times into a pod of wary steelhead, lo an behold the brown had made its way into the pack and did not hesitate to go for the worm despite being surrounded by its larger brethren.

I fish that river a lot and have only caught 2 in about 10 years in the main river and both were in the spring.. Chances are they have dropped out of the tribs, either being chased out by bows in their pools or to winter over in slower deeper water.. My guess is they will eventually move back up into their tribs since that section get to warm in the summer for them to survive...
