Nip Fishin'

well had the chance to meet up with Fishschaser67 and go chase some fish on nip. We got there around 12, on the ice around 12:30, set up the huts, winds was a pain in the a$$ and friggen cold as heck. We set up my hut but i just let my dad have it for himself and went into FishChasers pop-up, to try and find some fish there. Before we knew it, my dad was screaming fish on and in about 10 minutes i went to his hole to help him land his 10 lb beauty pike that he brought in with 4 lb test!, went back in the hut, he's yelling fish on again WTH lol. This one just broke the hook and i calmly went back into the hut, before long, Fishchaser had a fish on but it spat the hook about 30 cm from the damn hole, never got to see it but most likely a huge whitie. Then it was finally my turn, my main goal today was to try and get a herring, well thats what i had on and lost the snag thing right at the hole, he spat the hook i grabbed him but couldn't get a hold of him, thing mustve been like 3 lbs! Then Fishchaser got a walleye, i had something on my line right after, after almost spooling me, it ripped the line, probably another big pike, man it wasn't a nice feeling losing so many monsters, lol. Then Fishchaser had another walleye on, after helping him land it, i look at my rod tip going nuts, to land a nice keeper walleye. Fischaser lost a fish after and then my rod tip was dancing punch again set the hook, only to find it was a nice sized herring! Mission Accomplished! Also got some nice jumbos around 10-11, and lost even more fish then we landed bt still an awesome day out there, if it wasn't for the 80km wind gusts and snowstorm would been even better, was great meeting you again Jacques, well have to meet up on nip again sometime soon! This time ill come prepared with 10 lb line, haha. Forgot to mention, my dang dog chewed on the pike, ate the head tail and fins, man what a crazy dog, lol, never eats fish but now he decided to try it, ill be hiding my catches from now on. YES it was a blast,, blizzard conditions and really cold ,, but we got some fish that was a good thing that spot never lets me down get fish all the time glad you and your dad hade fun and got some fish,, yes we defiantly need to do it again but NOT IN A BLIZARD LOL

Just google mapped it...it's a bit of a drive...though....just might be worth the 3 1/2 hour drive! Tasty looking fish in the tub!
