Exactly, it takes about a half-turn to disengage.

The reel is great for finesse presentations. It freespools light jigs faster than any spinning reel. Also because it's an inline reel, there's no line twist so a deadstick doesn't spin around. Unlike other 1:1 inlines, there is a 2.7:1 retrieve ratio and according to some sources, the guts are identical to the Black Betty 6061. There's a fender for pencil gripping and the graphite doesn't feel as cold as aluminum. Some great features, just not so great for laker fishing in 100 ft.
