So~
Friday around 11pm I arrived at Toronto Centre Island in hope to catch few pikes.
I fished from Halan Point all the way to Ward and not a single fish to get me motivated and it was around 2pm by that time. So I walked back to the Centre and saw 2 small fish seating and doing absolutely nothing but turning heads on my lures. I moved on and saw a small butt ugly looking cat right on top of the water with it's nose sticking out getting some fresh air or something.
Now, I just finally switched the lure to husky jerk and what do you know? I finally get a hit which felt nothing like a bluegill on a ultra light rod. I reel it in with ease and it's a small junior pike. I let got the hook off without tools and let it back in the water.
Didn't really felt like doing going back to other areas to work with huskyjerk anymore... so I took the ferry back to the city. I guess I made a good call to come back the city at that time as as soon I people got off the boat to the city... wind really started to pick up a bit and water all choppy aswell.
Oh well... maybe next time I'll have a better luck.
One thing I still do notice is there was no visible weeds anywhere until back few years ago when I first used baitcasting to fish for pike on a opening day to catch me 7 pikes. At that year, at that time of the year I still remember seeing a lot more visible weeds in the water.
I'll be sure to visit the island many more times to finally hook me a fish which has a measurable length to it.
Bye now!
