I was planning on going to the Notty but im not sure if it would be frozen.. just wondering if anyone knows if its fishible? Its and hour plus drive and dont want to find it jammed with ice. Any responses appreciated, thanks.
I can't say what it looks like now but when I drove by the last Thursday it was still wide open and with the temps warming up over the next few days I can't see there being much ice it was high and dirtier the normal good luck post with what it's like I might go to wasaga this week and fish the lower end
i work up in alliston so i pass over boyne river pretty much all the time, the river has the same flow as notty i woud assume and is much smaller. from what saw from the car only edge was were frozen middle was wide open hope this helps in some way
Unfortuantly I was skunked, which is not uncommon for this river but based off other anglers the fishing was slow. Only action heard was talking to one fishermen who caught a couple shakers. The river is high and dirty and my normal slow area of the area was jammed with ice. I went to some less familiar faster areas in the C&R section to find mainly open water but with a vis of about 1 foot. Pretty frustrating due to the amount of snags, hard to determine holding areas and staying away from snags due to murky water... still a nice pretty day on the river as always. Heres a couple shot
Great report Jordan,I know a couple of guys that went out this morning around 8:00 and still not back yet. I was invited but had a bit of work get in the way,but woke up to -11degrees,little cool for me on the river bank
