nov 12 9:30am until 12:30pm
i had to work today but got myself up after 3 hours sleep
traveled to the bluffs ...an hour and half trip
checked the bridge at the yaht club...guys had just caught two female salmon and stripped them of eggs
i went to where i had caught the brown trout earlier in the week....got a pass by a salmon 3 times
two browns jumped...but no hits...a guy walks up and tells me he saw 6 browns cruising by the area i was fish'n
the day before about this time...i walk further today than last day...explore more area...i do not know this place
at all yet...but i will someday soon i hope.
go back to my spot and i got brown follows...i switch up to try some roe sacs i made from the brown trout eggs a female left me as i released her at ashbridges at halloween.
well the stuff works cause i had 3 browns 7 feet from me watching the eggs as i cast them out to float back to me
this went on for 40 minutes ...the trout at times were 3 inches from taking those eggs...i know 8lb line was too heavy...they could see it as the water was too clear...so i am running out of time...i got to go to work...
so i bring in the eggs and switch to artificial leech with trout scent...berkley power bait i poured on it...
the trout scattered and never came back....this is the 5 or 6 time that the trout scent has scattered trout
when i have tried it...i will never use the crap again....
the browns avoid areas that have lots of fishing pressure...that is why i am getting all the action...i stay away from
the well known areas...where others are lined up to fish for salmon.
a boat pulled in off the lake and parked 20 feet right in front of me....i quit fishing to go to work....
but as i passed that bridge where others fished for salmon i found no one fishing...so what the heck i try a few casts
with a rattle box...wham i get a salmon on and he leeps out of the water and i fight him for 10 minutes until
he snags me on something and i lose him....yes those rattle boxes sure do upset salmon...
i had to stop and go to work but i realised today that november still has some play time with the fish to offer.
get out there and fish...
ps be careful...last outing i fell over some bush stumps from a beaver's hard work and fell on rocks and then fell off a ledge and dropped 4 feet onto my hip...i pissed blood for a day and a half and was i ever sore and bruised.
but it was all worth it to catch my last brown trout. but i do not want to get hurt any worse than that for a fish.
