Hey fellas,

I'm headed up to Sturgeon Lake on the 15th-18th, next week. And after reading the example OFF Report, I'd figure that it would be interesting to create one myself for you guys.

I'm a very inexperienced angler, so my expectations are low. But, who knows, I might have some luck on my side.

I'll try and get it posted by the Friday after I get back.

Here's what I know so far: I'm using 10lbs braid, an Abu Garcia spinning reel, mated with 6'6" Berkley medium-light Lightning Rod "Shock". I plan on starting with a Lindy 1/4 oz. slip sinker, a barrel swivel, and a 16" fluorocarbon leader with a floating trout worm on a #4 hook. If that doesn't work, I'm going to wing it.

I'll try to be as detailed as possible, and have some nice photos to back up my information.

Looking forward to sharing my learning-experience with you all.

Walleye opens up on the Saturday, so that's what we're after. My friend says that they usually try their luck with Perch when the picks aren't cooperating.

I'm trying to get an understanding of how walleye "work" - the only thing that seems to be consistent is the time of day, and the depth at which these fish feed. Early morning, and evening, and anywhere from 16" to 24" from bottom. So that's where I'll start As far as bait goes, I've seen many things recommended. I'm a little odd in that I don't want to conform to what other anglers do, all the time. Sure, that attitude will make me less successful, but if I come up with something that works for me, on my own, it makes the experience that much more rewarding.
