Just wondering if anyone has tried these old quarry pits near moutsberg / campleville area? There was a guy found dead in the bottom of one of them a few years back, I take it he was fishing beacuse he had a boat..

( the 3 pond-like resoviors north east of mountsberg)

I plan on trying them out this year, however was just wondering if anyone has tried them before? In the best scenario possible, they are loaded with bass!

Thanks,
Matt

theres bass blue gill and catfish as far as I know .. there are train tracks running through the reservoirs so don't fish off them you will get fined ... theres a small look out dock you can fish off . I wouldn't recommend going there all day for fishing maybe taking the family and fishing for a little bit .. I only lost a bass there so I don't know how good it is for bass but gl and good fishing hope you catch something

Thats unfortuinate, I was hoping I found a new little hotspot! But there is bass in there, correct? from the ones that you have seen, how big were they? Have you tried all 3 ponds?
Lastly, would you rather make a trip there or to mountsberg? I fish out of a canoe

With puslinch having such a big fish kill this year mountsburg will be hurting this year because it's even shallower being around 8' at the dam

i only fished one of the ponds and i don't remember exactly where ... but you should find a lot of structure look for fallen trees ( you should find a lot with this years storms)and changes in the shoreline normally from grass to rocks normally mean that there may be under water structure .. found lots of videos on youtube that have proven big bass in those ponds

I think he is asking about the 3 small quarries just outside mountsberg not mountsberg resivoir. I would also be curious to know if there is anything in those 3 quarries.

Yeah thats sad. Tons of money dumped into that lake for dredging to make it deeper for fish. Obviously did not help much a ton of lakes and ponds that are shallow will have tons of dead fish.

I am verry curious as to how it would be!

I was talking to my dad earlier, apperently my grandpa used to haul gravel out of it a few years back. He mentioned they blocked the driveway with piles of fill 2 deep so it is quiet the trek to walk back to the ponds. As for fishing, he wasnt too sure. Its unfortuinate the mountsberg fishing will be lacking this year. And yes indeed i was inquiring about the ponds not mountsberg resivior

If its the same one Im thinking of its private property had a buddy get fined there last fall.
My dad knew the guy who owned it, tried running a limestone quarry out of there without a license and got put in jail...
Not too sure if it private proerty or what the deal is anymore

They look more productive than they actually are,
Cops also troll around a lot in the summer because of all the people going in to swim.

But hey you can always give it a go!
