Hey Everyone!
So tonight GuitarBuildingAngler made the trek to Madoc to join me on the hunt for some stillwater rainbows on the fly. We got on the lake around 6:30pm. The sun was VERY warm at first, but a few storms passed by (luckily right around us, and not over us) and cooled it down a little. We watched this very neat cloud form, and expand right on the other side of the lake.

The trout were playing with our minds tonight. We likely saw 30-60 fish surface - ranging from acrobatic dashes out of the water, to the gentlest of sips.Try as we may, nothing seemed to work. We likely went through 60% of our combined fly selection to no avail. It wasn't until 10 minutes prior to us needing to leave that they started being even more active - surfacing closer to the boat, and one trout even took a pass at my black mudler minnow while it was resting on the surface which we thought was strange.
We managed a few small bass prior to calling it quits, but we had a fantastic time out on the water.
Great to finally connect with another OFF member! I have a feeling that you will be seeing many fishing reports from us in the future
Cheers,
Cody
