Been out since first ice(3 days ago) ice is sketchy but will hold if your careful and i mean careful!! 1" - 5" and in some spots half a inch to less.
Today i didn't fish the main lake(lake st clair) i fished a small marina and caught around 50 panfish mostly bluegill and sunfish.
heres a short video of the SMALL fish

But on a more serious note, i am wondering what you guys use to catch perch?
I've always used tear drop and a minnow but the more people i talk to i find out different techniques such as spoons seem to be popular?
wondering if anyone can give me any other tips or techniques that work well thanks.

great video, thanks.

you can also try:
small rapalas tipped with maggots on botom treble,
spoon with dropper tipped with plastic or minnow head,
small jig and gulp fry fish,
small lil foxee with 2 maggots,
drop shot with 2 hooks 6" apart tipped with tubes.

I used to go with small jigs tipped with minnows, but since then I've been doing much better on small Jigging Raps.

We couldn't keep the perch off up north using minnows on a jig/gulp fry on a jig.

Preferred using the minnows though as we had some good pike on as well!

Oo better becarful with ice like that but glad you got fish!

I have a few small spoons and jigging raps also they seem to be really popular :) even shoppers at lebaron that see if buying ice gear recommanded it to me :)

Thanks for the tips guys, and efka i used a spoon tipped with a minnow head for your suggestion the other day and i did well! my first time really using spoons for perch thanks again guys!
