Hey everyone!

Although I've been a long time visitor to the forums, this is my first post! I tried and tried and tried, but the uploader did not seem to work with any of my browsers, so I had to link the photo to my flickr account. I'll do my best to troubleshoot this for my next post. The bass in the photo was caught on a wooly bugger in a lake near Madoc, ON. I've never really had the opportunity to fish for big bass, so this was definitely a treat - especially on the fly rod. This lake is sort of a secret spot of mine, but I plan on doing many fishing reports, as I try to get out on the water at least 5 times a week. I actually spent yesterday at Vanderwater conservation area with my family as a birthday celebration of sorts, and caught some small small-mouth and a few creek chub. The place is very beautiful, and it felt nice to wade the limestone riverbed of that section of the Moira on such a beautiful day - hooking up was just an added bonus!

Tight lines,

Cody

nice large mouth bass, must have been fun to catch it fly gear.

Thanks, FISHCHRIS! It was a lot of fun to bring him in on the fly rod for sure! Can't wait to get back out there. I've heard that this lake hold Rainbows from a very credible source, so my buddy and I are going to take an electric trolling motor out there and see what we can hook up on. Can't wait!

Great Bass!

Madoc is a beautiful area (Off the beaten path) .......... 401 east lol

Nice to see so many guys using the FLY SET UPS on different species.

I dont have one myself, but always figured you could just about catch anything.

Looking forward to more posts.

Thanks

Thanks Blair and Dozer!

It is, indeed, addicting Dozer! If I'm not out with my fly-rod I'm either thinking about it, researching it, or practising tying!

Blair, yes, Madoc is a nice place once you get off of the beaten path for sure. Unfortunately a lot of the fisheries here have heavy pressure, but if you search hard enough you can find a pristine gem! It's also true that fly-fishing is incredibly versatile. You'd be surprised at the amount of people that see me in the area and stop and ask "There are trout in here?!". I simply respond by letting them know that whatever fish you can bait/spin cast for, you can most certainly fly-fish for! A nice bass on a fly-rod is such a great feeling!!

Tight lines,

Cody
