Im gonna be in that area soon myself. Smallies are everywhere look for rock shoals or points. Lots of pike too and some musky.
Lol. Hope ur not going to jail.

Haha, sadly i am going to the JAIL. but only to visit someone, Im going to be getting myself a FLOAT tube where can i fish with a float tube without getting blowned away or carried by the current? im thinking about just rolling out on the docks with my little float tube. Smallies range in what weight class and what would you use up there?

A float tube sounds like an excellent idea, like I said before rocky shoals and points are good, docks would also be good as smallies like some type of cover. My biggest up there is about 5 lbs, but I have heard of 6 and 7 lbers. I like to use an assortment of Rapalas and Mepps, very early or at dusk surface lures like a Hula Popper can be productive and lots of fun. Sometimes you will hear the fish hit before you feel it.

Good luck Alfie.

Make sure you stay out of the way of big boats...some of the areas in midland/penetang are crazy with boat traffic. It is pretty big water in that area also, so it would be wise for you to stick pretty close to the shelter of the marina's. Lots of bass in the area. Tubes and other soft plastics will get them for sure.
Great to see some of you coming up and fishing some of my local waters! (though i dont fish penetang/midland area often, but i do close by in hogs and sturgeon/waub bays) There is some HUGE sm/lm bass, pike, musky, walleye in the area but you have to work for them for sure, especially in the dog days of summer.

Yeah, it seems waub/sturgeon seems closer to 400 and quite a travel to get penetang. I tested out fishing with senkos on rice lake couldnt find the big ones to take my 5inch worm dam little guys kept nipping at it so i couldnt sent my hook in(wacky rig setup) question do you do wacky rig setup on weedless hooks if its near a weed bed or normal hooks will do? So heard of wacky rig O rings? extends the life of the worms.

Yeah hoggs is a bit of a drive from penetang. Its also big water, and wouldnt be too good for a float tube or shore fishing.

Im a tube guy...hardly use any plastics other than 4" tubes.

I've seen Gamakatsu hooks for wacky rigging that are weedless over at Lebaron's. They should have it at most places as well.
