Did you ever notice that everyone for abortion has already been born? As for Phil and DD, when they asked the question they already knew what his answer was going to be. This is more about tolerance than anything else, or in Phil's case, intolerance to Christian values.

I actually find it fascinating that a business would destroy it's best selling product in order to protect the feelings of a group that falls outside of the target demographic... Does the group that he offended actually watch Duck Dynasty?

this is trying to be politically correct at its finest, trying too hard to please too many people, no matter what you do, you're going to piss someone off.

i feel the same way about this 'happy holidays' BS........what happened to Merry Christmas?

I did not think I would have any thing to say about this until I heard "the right to free speech " . The right to free speech only pertains to the government and the law. It has nothing to do with your personal or business life. You can say almost anything you want to but you bear the responsibility for your words. He can say what ever he wants to and A&E can choose whether they wish to continue their business relationship with him. This is not a "free speech" issue.
It's up in the air with me me whether this is a man speaking his convictions or it is just cold calculated manipulation to drive ratings and make more money. It could be a little of both.
The sad thing is that this is just one more thing dividing our neighbours to the south further apart. They are already a divided nation and even something as small as this drives the wedge deeper.

So true! And given that it's not a question of free speech, the main question is "Who gives a R.A. about DD"?

The squeeky wheel gets the grease........as for free speech, it's underrated. Media is influenced by money as with all things in our system.

It's all about pleasing and displeasing people. Like I said. People take offense on something they don't agree. Imagine how many people would say he's a poser if his views were the exact opposite...

I don't watch DD, I do not own any of their DD goods sold in just about every store you go into now.
I fully support gay rights and same sex marriage.
Phil Robertson is entitled to his opinion just like any same sex couple are entitled to their opinion. I find it very hypocritical that these people who support gay rights take offense to an opinion that differs from their own. There are many openly gay celebrities that use their status to promote their personal agenda but you do not dare speak out about that or mention it.

As a society we need to focus more on our individual rights and freedoms and less on the rights and freedoms of collective groups whether that is left wing, right wing, sexual or religious

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting
unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values asa company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.

See ... now Phil is open minded.
Peace on Earth
