I was at J&S Tackle about a week ago and picked up a Okuma Blue Diamond Series Rod for 31 buck's plus Tax and it was regular 79.99.

I got it for Walleye fishing and Pike at the Bruce Nuke Hydro Plant just outside Kincardine,I tried a month ago with a friend with a 7 Foot UglyStik Med Action and with a 3/4oz slip sinker and a worm harness the end of the Rod was just bent over to far and I don't think the UglyStik would set the hook very well if at all,the current is pretty strong there fishing just outside the shoot's with 75 to 100 feet of line out and the wave's can get up to 1 to 4 feet in hurry and it's not to often the water is calm there.

The Spec's on the Blue Diamond Rod are 8 Foot 12 to 25lbs line and 1 to 4oz lure weight,Model DB-S-802M-1

Here are some Pic's of my new Rod and I'm also glad to see they wrapped real Thread around the Rod instead of Faking it the way most do today.

Some people do but not alot. Im pretty sure okuma float rods were garbage but that's a completely different blank. It looks like a decent rod.

It seem's to be a very stiff Rod with just a little give in the tip.

That'll be good for what you're doing. When I jig for eyes I like a medium light power so that i can feel the bottom and detect suttle bites. It also adds more fun to the fight.
