Pier fishing

Hey,

I'm usually a river fisher but looking to bring my son out so I'm thinking of hitting some piers. I have a couple Lake Ontario piers in mind, just wondering if anyone is out there? Drive by Ontario yesterday and it looked pretty clear of ice, figured I'd take the boy out and chuck some spoons or something.

Not looking for spots just curious if it's worth my time. He gets bored easily lol.

Absolutely true. But catching fish is always a plus. I want him to be excited to go out, to feel the fight of a fish. Took him ice fishing for the first time last weekend. He was a maniac until he caught that first perch. Then he spent the next few hours looking down the hole and actually catching fish by himself.

Absolutely worth to go out. It's quite sunny but a bit cool so make sure the little guy bundles up. Temperatures like this is still cold once you hit the piers and open water. But, it beats staying at home and playing with electronics. Specially for kids. Ideal temps for pike right now and it will close end of the month. Like Hucho said, fish or no fish. Your chances of catching one is higher than sitting at home. And good luck.

Do it - time spent outside can't be beat. When I was younger my father used to throw coins around the area and make us believe people dropped money - kept us busy for hours while he fished - sneaky guy he is :neutral:

I used to search around for coins my parents the same thing when I was a young buck.

Last year around this time, I was out on a pier chucking Williams, with my two boys an it was a surprise when my youngest caught a 3 lb jack. You just never know, so go
