These never get old for me, this is probably the deepest I've seen a pike take another person's fish.

This is apparently a 50Lb+ Pike Nailing another Pike at Boatside.

If I was on the other end of that Rod I think a trip Home to change the "Undies" wold be the next order of business!!

The Pictures below. I've been trying to find out the Truth behind this guys 60+ Lb, 56". Pike.

Rumour has it that it came from a Lake in Western Canada.

After More Searching I found the most reliable Story to be that it in fact it's From somewhere in Europe and the Pike is Classified as a "European Pike".

That sems to make sense when you look at not only the Fish, but also the Fisherman.

The only Question I have is .... "How The HELL Did He Get That Monster Into The Boat!!"

I think that's one of the saltwater pike, they spawn in tributaries of the Baltic Sea but live in the sea. I am a citizen of the EU and have traveled to Finland, Sweden, Poland and Germany. If my health allows me more years on this planet, I would love to one day catch some of those beauties if I visit that area again!

Wow! Thanks for doing all that research! I share the same question as you! I was watching a Facts of Fishing episode where Dave was in Saskatchewan and he caught some huge pike but nothing like that one.

Exactly "salmontrutta"! Now that you bring back the story I'm almost sure that it was Finland or Sweden.

I didn't know that Pike could survive in Saltwater, but this one is "Native" as you've said. Every day you Learn something NEW ...Is a GOOD DAY!! Thank You!

I hope it will also! Don't forget Your Camera!!

Never heard of saltwater pike... maybe they are easier to catch then freshwater! Hope your health improves and you land one of these monsters.

You guys Peaked my Interest about the "Biggest Pike".

I have the "Ontario Record Fish Registry" on here. This is as off Oct. 2012.

Key Point: It's ONLY Ontario.

Pike Shown is only 42.12 Lbs. caught in 1946?? Say What!!
Maybe No one's Recording their Fish anymore???

It's a PDF and LONG Lengthwise so I had to select One Part with a few fish in there, Pike, Bass, Muskie, Pumpkinseed (Knoob ) Etc.

I Chopped that part out, made it into "Part One" & "Part Two". Underlined in Red Etc.

Should be okay.

Rick

PS: Also for Your Viewing Pleasure ME  (Many Moons Ago) with MY Record Pike at the "Royal Simcoe Hotel" on Lake Simcoe. (Think it Burned Down L O N G Time Ago.)

Thanks for sharing the record. That pumkinseed must have been HUGE look at the lure it says he caught it on... who knew pumkinseeds liked frogs?? I got a new record to beat! I think most fishermen/women now are c&r so recording their fish is hard... Bass, Pike, Muskie all to hard to catch the biggest, pumkinseed I can do. Nice photo btw :D

Nice touch with my name.... :D
