Esox Lucius, better known as Esox Lucifer to those lower in the food chain within its range. In this case, a silver spinner.

Fun bucket from today, took a worm after about 5 casts. Why did it take 5 casts? Why didn't it want to take it on casts 1 through 4? You'll have to ask the fish.

very nice. Got into a nice load of largemouth on puslinch again this weekend. One pretty big around 3lbs and the rest around two. I was using 5" chigger craws so I didnt catch a single fish uner 1lb. The next morning I got out on the row boat and didnt catch a single fish!

Nice Combo Salmo!

"I'll take a Pike and Bass to go please"...

(Looks like FRECHMANS BAY)

Love your saying: "Ask the fish"....

We never really know what their thinking, do we?

Good Looking Largemouth Nado!

My Fish bite was OFF on Saturday (Harbourffront) ... total skunk.

Then Sunday for Bass was better. Although in the morning it was off.

Nice pics.

All nice fish. It's amazing how shore fishing can out produce boat fishing sometimes.

haha. ya that's the way it goes sometimes. first time me and my gf went to puslinch we were pulling in largie after largie and small pike. had a big pike on that got off too. never went more than 20 minutes without a fish on. then i went back a couple of weeks later and got skunked in 3 hours of fishing. went back 3 weeks after that on my cousin's bass boat and between the 3 of us we got just a half decent pike.

6lbs 26" - surprised me at the scale, much heavier than expected and my biggest pike of the year. No monsters yet this year.

Got a lesson in weighing fish today, as this one fell off the scale and landed head first on the ground. 1 hr + trying to revive to no avail, fortunately found someone who wanted to keep it, had to drive it over to a spot where there's usually a lot of fishermen.

Nobody took me up on my guiding offer today - it was a very active night and I landed this pike within minutes of starting. Mepps black fury never fail to produce. I caught this one walking the edge rather than casting and reeling, you use the speed of your footsteps to troll the mepps along structure - very productive for enticing pike that are lingering around the structure.

Like Blair mentioned in another thread, I am baffled that there can be so many pike and bass in certain Lake Ontario bays, yet seemingly no walleye. The walleye must be in there, perhaps they leave for colder waters as fry or are simply very elusive.

Great catches guys. Puslinch looks like a great little lake. Too bad there is'nt one like it in the east end near me. I only caught 2 pike, 1 on a worm the 2nd on a plastic grub, I'll have to try the Mepps. Thanks for reporting and the tips.

Sometimes our BEST CATCH & RELEASE efforts fail.
That's fishing.

It's refreshing to see your HONEST PUBLICATION of these facts.
Try mentioning an occurance like that with a "Muskie" and the armchair critics come out in droves. ( You know - the "perfect fishermen")

* I'm sure they enjoyed a great Pike Dinner (lots of bones, but good tasting white meat)

Nice catch! The structures and Banks close to shore .... hold a Heck of a lot of Fish!
* Always been amused that so many fishermen think the fish are 100 yds out. Not so.

Blair, there is an easy method for getting boneless fillets off pike.
