so im going into grade 9 in september this year and i need to fill out my community service hours and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could go involving fishing? I was thinking like camps that had fishing involved so i could help out or maybe in the fall participate in "jumping" the fish over the dams anything will help. I live in ajax so anything within 30-45 minutes away would be ideal but id be willing to travel aswell. Thanks for all your suggestions

Check out your local fishing clubs. They are always looking for people to help out. I know the Ontario Steelheaders are very active in my area as well as the LHFC and a bunch more so I am sure there are some up around you.

Ive tried looking around but the most i can find is like help tagging salmon and trout in fall and spring, so i though if you see anything if you guys here could let me know would be great.

I agree with MAngelo. I think Metro East Anglers do offer Volunteering. Is there fisheries programs for kids this summer though?

CRAA is $10 to join and they will email all the details.
If you are interested in this, I have been a meber for the last 2 years. I would suggest joining ASAP, just before the Salmon run there is tons to do. Then in spring. Be prepared to make some life long friends and learn a TON about the fish themselves, eating habits, habitats ect.

Just realized ur in Ajax, thats about a 45min drive. Port hope has a huge volenteering program as well.

thanks guys ill check all of these out ijay mind pm'ing the details the drive to port hope is a no biggie i go there like every other night during the runs for fishing so the drive wont affect me

i think the craa is a bit to far for me but ive inquired at trout unlimited and metro east anglers but ill try to convine my dad about the craa because while i work i guess he could fish or something and id be a way for me to get fishing the credit, ive heard its a really good river

Will send PM. Credit river is a great river, but because of its proximity to missisauga/brampton/oakville.

The white bucket brigade are out everyday and when there are runs you will know just looking at the parking lot. Shoulder to shoulder fishing. As you reach down to tie ur shoe, someone is casting over you.
