Has anyone ever fished Pointe Au Barril in Georgian Bay?? I am heading there this weekend for 3 days of fishing and fun and I know it`s georgian bay and what to expect, but was wondering if anyone has had the pleasure of fishing this region of the bay? I can`t wait!

can't help you out, but i have fished georgian bay from shore wihtout much success unfortunately.

Yeap stayed at pleasant cove resort a few years back for a week of fishing right by there.

Lots of pike some bass.

The guides take u closer to the main bay for the giant monster pike but then again the two people who took the guide caught nought, not that we were catching trophies or ought but at least it was a constant steady catch rate. I say head north around the islands I think we spent most our time fishing going north not some great distance just north along the coast line.

I think that's one area you will have absolutely no trouble at all catching all week long. Large rapalas real big or giant spoons big was the way to go up there but heck what do I know I got skunked two days straight in Algonquin park so the confidence is a little shot.

Watch for those monster size power boats those punks couln;t care less if they run you over.

Thanks...I am excited...sorry about your confidence...but I think Algonquin is a tuff place to fish, to be too hard on yourself!

I was talking to my bro last night and he reminded me of something from the trip to this area.

I don't recall this but he does so this is his thoughts not mine:

He says the balsa wood rapala 10" floating no rattles was key. Gold and silver were the two colours that worked best.
Anything that had a rattle didn't work as well.

I remember running the floating rapalas giants but don't recall the noise issue but there is another angle to cover both rattle and quiet running lures!
