How many of you buy fishing gear online? I've ordered a couple of things like a fishing reel last year for one of our competitions, as well as some lures from Sensei.

What about you?

i just buy something whenever i don't blow my money on something else, haven't bought a new rod for a couple years, but i'm gonna have to buy a new one if i plan on fishing this summer, my reel has started to make a grinding noise that i can't seem to fix

I have never bought anything fishing related online. Make lots of trips to the USA for work and pleasure so if I am driving, I usually stock the car with fishing goodies. Cheaper since there is no duty or shipping costs involved.

Recently, just had my first internet purchase to get a rod that's not available here. Bad thing is that you pay shipping + you dont get a feel of what you buy before you pay for it..

But the place I bought it from was really fast, and really good service. They returned email questions really quick, and everything was awesome.

bought my curado online much cheaper than retail stores. shipping was fast and since i knew what i wanted i didn't need to feel it. but i am hesitant to buy a rod online.

no specific sites that i have gone to order from, but i have ebay'ed things like ultralight reel, glow sticks for night fishing (CHEAPPPPP), and i think some floats as well...

i haven't purchased anything online in a longggg time. i think it's cause i'm poor haha.

oh yeah, i also bought a new fly fishing rod online at chistmas, from bass pro shops, unfotunately it took five weeks to ship, never doing that again 8)

Have never bought on-line...and it`s deffinatly because I am broke...I gotta be the poorest fisheman going right now! I survive on the kindness of others! and I love them for it!

Would never buy on line, unless its something I've used or had before and at a good deal. I also find shipping kills most deals, especially from the US.

I buy all of my rods and reels in person as I want to handle a rod and reel before purchasing. Lures are more often than not, an impulse purchase and are bought in person for tha treason. I do however, purchase some terminal tackle and lure making components online as well as reel maintenance supplies. So, I would say that the purchases are occassional.

I bought an ice hut, some tip ups and a few other goodies from the 'Fishin Hole' this winter. Shipping from Edmonton took just over a week. There are deals to be had but some items can be bought at CT for less.

I get about 5 online purchases from the bass pro shops web site, other than that nothing.
